Interesting shift of focus. I don’t think they have any choice other than to go along with the search engines. The major SEs are forcing all the players to improve the quality of the internet.

I think he’s right on with the focus changing more towards relevant links. Link Popularity just doesn’t have the bang for the buck that is used to…

I think what Patrick said on the show was pretty spot on. After hearing the show I purchased text links ads for a new site of mine ,the result being 600 new links on day two. I kid you not.

I agree that you must get only relevant theme related links.

I highly recommend using Patrick Gavins’s service.

They are not over priced for what they offer.
    Quick relevant links.

A lot of businesses do not have the time or the
knowledge to hunt down good sites to work with.

For the site owner with a much smaller budget if
your site is good enough you can find good back
links from relevant sites just by asking for it.

Not just reciprocal links but good one way links.
Its worked for me, it just takes time…

Keep it very personal, not a spam type email, and
you maybe surprised just how easily you can get
good one way links on theme related websites.

So its not all doom and gloom for the little guy
it just takes a little more work on your part.

Isn’t Google starting to really clamp down on purchased link ads. I’ve heard that in some cases they are removing/reducing the ability of those sites to pass on page rank. Has anyone else heard this to be true?

Well I have tried TextLinkAds.com. Great for building quick PR. :D I got a great rate on some bulk ads, but you have to do your own research on the sites they give you. Don’t just blindly take the first list they give you.
