I was planning on trying Affiliate Program on my website. Using the banner, doest that count as a link? I heard is not as good as text link.

I have used text link ads with good results. As an SEO person I was reluctant, but the outcome was very positive not only from an SEO side, but also from a real user side. Many “real” visitors followed the links to my site.

Isn’t Google starting to really clamp down on purchased link ads. I’ve heard that in some cases they are removing/reducing the ability of those sites to pass on page rank. Has anyone heard this to be true?
