<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> what about something real nichey like "massachusetts webdesign" or "massachusetts wedding photographer" how do I go about bidding on these?
<BradFallon> oops -- I always miss that last commercial
<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> lol
<BradFallon> Ken -- we'll do that one
<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> thx brad
<corpwriter> Ken - are you only wanting people IN Massachusetts
<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> not really but figured I'm too small to do nationwide
<corpwriter> If you promote the keyword Massachusetts, only people who search for that will pull up your ad - webdesign and photogrphy can be done for anyone anywhere
<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> I figured I would get more responses for just companies in my state
<corpwriter> If you use the keyword Massachusetts you will get a higher response rate I'm sure because I'm guessing that Massachusetts isn't a highly targeted keyword
<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> right, but I wanted people only looking for a webdesigner in massachusetts. What keyword should I bid on? "Massachusetts webdesigner"
<corpwriter> I do both, separately - and together - but know that "webdesigner" will cost more to bid on.
<corpwriter> yeah - talk about ad copy - that's my field!!!
<jdooley> is it just about ad copy? what about landing pages?
<corpwriter> capitalizing on the "call-to-action"
<corpwriter> what do you mean about landing pages jdooley?
<jdooley> I mean the place a user goes to after they click on the ad
<jdooley> I've found creating unique landing pages increases site conversion a lot
<roose> i dont see such great results in adwords......i advertise on 10-12 other PPC sites...and my cost/conversions are horrible for google.....i change landing pages, etc...and i just cannot convert....any ideas..or recommendations?
<corpwriter> I agree - even if you're promoting affiliate stuff, creating your own ad/pages for it makes the conversion rate higher
<corpwriter> roose - it could be your ad copy or the keywords you're using.
<jdooley> roose, I think it's important to customize your ads for each keyword.I also think the best position isn't the top position (for conversions)
<roose> well..keywords are common in google..and i use the same KW in my other PPC campaigns
<roose> there is competition in my space for my KW in google...but ther eis more in overture...and i do much better in OV
<jdooley> do the ads send people to your home page?
<roose> no...they go directly to the page that offers the info they are seeking
<roose> i do cutomize my ads for diff KW...diff titles and copy
<roose> brb...bathroom break
<roose> still wanna pick ure brains a little on google conversion
<jdooley> can we still talk now that the show is over?
<BradFallon> sure!
<jdooley> Hi Brad, a colleague of mine recommends you highly
<corpwriter> Sometimes your copy doesn't pull for you. Are you getting e-mail addresses so that you can keep getting in touch with the people who land on your page?
<markcarey> And there is also the forum at http://www.seoradio.com/forum.html
<BradFallon> Cool -- thanks!
<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> thanks Mark
<Chopperguy> sorry to ask again but what is the url
<Ken-BigVoiceDesign> can anyone suggest what keyword I can use for my first ad for a massachusetts web designer?
<corpwriter> Hey Brad - have you ever had a guest that talks about ad copy and marketing?

<corpwriter> Ken - try this page: http://www.nichebot.com/ and start typing in keywords that pertain to your business to figure out what to use
<markcarey> Are you volunteering corpwiter? Send me an email at mark@seoradio.com
<BradFallon> Alex Mandossian was on -- we talked about conversion. But that's a good idea.
<corpwriter> Ohh, alex mandossian is good! Ahh! I see a past archive. Cool! I'll look it up.
<Chopperguy> looking for the url for adguru
<corpwriter> Uhm, okay - I'll e-mail you mark but I'm probably not experienced enough - especially with adwords and stuff. Just do copywriting and marketing in general
<corpwriter> http://www.adgooroo.com
<Chopperguy> thanks

<roose> corpwriter - no..i do not get emails from users when they hir my landing page
<corpwriter> That may help you roose - that way you can keep following up. Offer something free - put them on an auto-responder and have it get in touch with them at least 7 - 10 times.
<markcarey> good point, listen to the Alex Mandossian show at http://www.seoradio.com/20040706-alex-mandossian-web-site-conversion.html
<corpwriter> Ohh, thanks mark! I'll bookmark it and listen to it when I can.
<markcarey> a "must listen" for anyone who cares about conversion (and everyone should)
<corpwriter> I got a 404 error mark
